Centennial Rotary General MeetingOn Tuesday, December 30, 2008 Greeter--John and Ken President Hank rang the bell at 7:30 Ken introduced Kerri, our new outbound Exchange student. She will be going to France. She and her Mom enjoyed breakfast with us. Rotary MinuteKent expounded on the Rotary Youth Exchange programs and how they can make a person’s life different. Mark your calendar!!!!!!!!! April 22nd is the date for the State of our City function. Mary Alice is heading up this project, please make sure you are available that day. We need you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tom Buck shared details about how the Denver Children’s Home Christmas party went. The Bucks, Jacksons and Roxy and James attended the annual program and came away very impressed with the program. Randy announced the formation of the Centennial Care Committee. The committee will visit Rotarians/significant others in hospital and send cards, plants and/or make phone calls to those in need. Tom is a member and the first recipient, Paul also wants to help. Please contact Randy or other members with any needs. The Board will decide on a budget for the newly formed committee. Cathy Smith needs food January 9 and 10. Please let Randy know you can help. Paul came through his latest hip revision very well and should be back soon. While standing, Randy also gave report regarding the "journal literacy program" we recently sponsored at Knapp Elementary. The students were thrilled to see their artwork on the cover of their own journal. Greg, Laurie, the Jacksons, Hank were very pleased to see our money put to such a good use. With the generous price given to us by Greg’s company, we will be able to do more of these projects in the future to help more and more students. Next Board meeting is January 8 at 7:10 a.m. Happy Bucks
ProgramFrank Loner spent time sharing updates of Colorado insurance regulations. This program shouldn’t have been missed as Frank gave the assembled a ton of great information. For any details, contact him directly. MarblesFrank’s number was drawn and no blue appeared. Pot carries over to 2009.
