Announcements
- Rotary Minute by Kent--Shared with us information re: RYLA and Young RYLA. He then gave the floor to Barb who reported on her "nephew?" who recently attended Young RYLA. He thoroughly enjoyed his week and felt the exercises and training was good for him.
- Diane shared a letter written to her by a man she met on a trip who has a close connection with Paul Harris. Once she mentioned (was she wearing her pin?) Rotary, the gentleman went on and on about the world’s best organization. She will copy the letter and share copies with the Club soon.
- Jennifer gave a report on her, last year’s District Foundation giving. The District gathered $584,686. Our Club met 94.3% of our goal with $4246.00 collected.
- Jenn also passed out peach information and reminded us that money and orders are due August 26 and delivery is Saturday, September 6th between 8 a.m.-noon.
- Randy shared info about Cathy and her recent surgery and hospital stay. She should be home today and he will check into meal requirements. She was very appreciative of the flowers the Club sent. After discussion, the Club may us a Dream Dinner-type place to make a bunch of meals for her and her son.
After the meeting, Randy spoke with her and her church is taking care of the first two weeks. Rotary will help after that.
- Mary Alice announced August board meeting has been changed to 8/21. Our District Governor will be visiting the Club 10/7. Please plan on attending and it would be a great day to bring a guest. The DG board meeting will be 10/6 in the evening.
- September 16 is the first Club Assembly.
Happy Bucks
Ben did a great job of collecting about $10. Hopefully in ensuing weeks, more members will be happier.
Program
Tim Jackson, executive director of the Colorado Auto Dealers Association. He regaled us with Rotary stories before he shared info about automobiles, gas increase and much fewer warranty problems. It was a great program, wish you had been here to hear him.
Marbles
Andres had his ticket drawn and alas, a clear marble was pulled.
